American Curl

Breed Highlights:

The American Curl is a compact cat with a long body while being small in overall size. They are one of the most easily recognized cat breeds nowadays due to their arched back, and pointed ears, which make them different from other cat breeds. Best of all, they are available in a wide range of patterns and colors, with each variety having either short or long hair. 

A curious expression full of pleasant surprise by the American Curl brings a smile to the face of its companion. These felines are very playful, smart, & curious, and form a strong bond with their owners. American curl gets along with kids, dogs, and other cats.

The male American Curl breed weighs between 7 to 10 pounds, while the female breed weighs between 5-10 pounds.

Breed Appearance:

Surprisingly, American Curls do not inherit their distinctive characteristics at birth. Typically, kittens are born with erect ears. Within the first few days, their ears begin to transform into tight little buds. Later, around six weeks of age, the kittens’ ears gradually begin to open. 

These cats are not particularly large cats like other breeds but are moderately muscular cats with a compact structure. Additionally, their coat can be either short or long, but not much undercoat. Simply put, these cats don’t shed much water compared to other breeds.
